Ms. Illinois American Classic Woman Pageant Approaching

SPRINGFIELD, IL – The 13th Annual Ms. Illinois American Classic Woman Pageant will be held March 14 – 17, 2002, at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Oakbrook Terrace.

"We are looking forward to another exciting pageant" said Margo E. Schreiber, Director of the Illinois Department on Aging. "It is a wonderful venue in which to showcase the health, vitality and talents of older Illinois women."

The Ms. Illinois American Classic Woman Pageant is for women age 60 and older. Judges consider interview, stage presence, talent and life philosophies. The winner travels the state promoting wellness and fitness, and encouraging other adults to become involved in worthwhile activities. The winner also represents Illinois in the National American Classic Woman Pageant held in the fall in Dubuque, Iowa.

This years Coronation Presentation will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2002, in the Sheraton Hotel's Grand Ballroom, to be followed by a reception and silent auction. Tickets are available to the public for $25. In addition, a talent show will be presented at 7 p.m. by former contestants and National Queen Ms. Nancy Kinwen.
