August 27, 2002 Families Encouraged to Visit the DuQuoin State Fair "First Heat" Senior Center SPRINGFIELD, IL Illinois Department on Aging Director Margo E. Schreiber is encouraging families to visit the “First Heat” Senior Center at the 2002 DuQuoin State Fair, which continues through September 1, to enjoy entertainment and special events coordinated by the Department. The center is air-conditioned and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. "We invite people of all ages to visit the exhibits, receive literature, participate in health screenings and listen to entertainment," Schreiber said. The annual "Senior Prom" will be from 24 p.m. on August 29th with live music by the Old Timers’ Band of Chester, and Intergenerational Day will be August 31 and will feature entertainment by youth, skits and stories, clowns and a group singalong. ###
